At 18:30hrs on Monday 21st June 2010, sixteen excited passengers arrived at Bluebell Road, keen to begin their hot air balloon ride over Norfolk. The safety briefings were given, and G-CDHL was prepared for flight and inflated, ready to escort our adventurers up into the early evening summer sky.
Once in the air, they were immediately presented with wonderful views of the edge of the city, before they drifted in a north westerly direction, heading away from Norwich towards Easton. The spectacular urban scenes soon gave way to a picturesque landscape of Norfolk’s green rolling countryside. G-CDHL continued over Honingham and North Tuddenham, before coming back down to the ground at Swanton Morley.
The hot air balloon was packed away, and the flight toasted in the traditional manner with a glass of chilled Champagne (or orange juice), and the passengers were presented with their Flight Certificates.
